Terms of Service
The rules for using jobmarketbc. By joining, you agree to them. Questions? Email jobmarketbc.payments@gmail.com.
What jobmarketbc is
jobmarketbc connects people looking for work with businesses that are hiring. We aren't an employer or a recruiter, and we aren't part of any job offer. We don't promise that a worker will get a job or that a business will find someone. Hiring decisions, pay and working conditions are between the worker and the business.
Your account
- You must be at least 16 to join.
- Your information must be true, and your account is only for you.
- Keep your password private. You're responsible for what happens on your account.
Workers
Joining and using jobmarketbc is free for workers. Check that a job is real before you share private details. No real employer needs your SIN or bank details before hiring you, so don't share them on this site or with anyone before you've been hired.
Businesses
- Only post real jobs that you're actually hiring for, with honest pay and details.
- Follow employment and human rights laws, including the BC Employment Standards Act and the BC Human Rights Code.
- Only use applicants' information to consider them for your jobs.
Plans, free trial and billing
- Plans are billed monthly in Canadian dollars. Prices are on the plans page.
- New businesses get a 3-day free trial, once. You add a card when you start it.
- When the trial ends, your card is charged automatically for your plan, and then every month, until you cancel.
- You can cancel on your Billing page any time. If you cancel during the trial, you won't be charged. If you cancel after that, your plan keeps working until the end of the month you paid for, and you won't be charged again.
- If a payment is declined, you have 3 days to update your card before your plan stops working.
- If you think a charge is wrong, email us and we'll look into it.
- If we change a price, we'll tell you first by email.
What's not allowed
- Fake jobs, scams, or asking people for money to get a job.
- Harassing, threatening or discriminating against anyone.
- Trying to break into the site or other people's accounts, or collecting people's information from it.
We can remove content or close an account that breaks these rules.
Our responsibility
We work to keep the site running and accurate, but it's provided as it is and may sometimes be down or have mistakes. We don't check every job or person on the site. To the extent the law allows, we aren't responsible for what users post or do, or for the outcome of any job or interview, and our total responsibility to you is limited to what you paid us in the 3 months before the problem. Nothing here takes away rights you have by law.
Closing your account
You can stop using the site any time. To delete your account, email us. Businesses should cancel their plan first so they aren't charged again.
Changes and the law
If we change these terms, we'll update them here and change the date at the top. These terms follow the laws of British Columbia and Canada.
